Lead Pastor

Duane has pastored Livingston Christian Center since October 1980. He and his wife Joan, RN Nurse Manager of the Operating Room at Livingston HealthCare, were married in 1973. They have 3 children and 12 grandchildren.

A graduate of Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, he taught public school for 3 years before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota where he earned a Master of Divinity degree through Bethel Theological Seminary. He later completed his Doctor of Ministry degree, also through Bethel Seminary.
He is a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, serves on the Upper Yellowstone Critical Incident Stress Management Team, and is the Chaplain for the Park County Sheriff's department. He enjoys many outdoor activities, photography, and playing guitar. Joan spent much of her early life in East Africa as the daughter of missionaries. In recent years the Huies have taken several short-term missions trips to East African countries.

Pastor Duane is passionate about helping people grow in their walk with the Lord as well as in their personal relationships. His preaching and leadership style is aimed at Discovering who we are in Christ, Developing our God-given potential, and Discipling Christ-followers.

Children's Ministry

Carol Oberquell lives north of Livingston in the beautiful Shields Valley with her husband Don. They have three grown children, three grandchildren and are expecting another in February of 2015. Her experience teaching in public schools shows in her preparation each week for KidZone Children's Church, Toddler Church and Noah’s Park nursery. She is skilled at training and equipping leaders to communicate to each age level about the love of Christ in a fun and safe environment.

Secretary duties also include coordinating volunteers from the church to carry out the many activities that keep us all going.

Carol and Don enjoy teaching and playing music, gardening and riding their Harley motorcycles together. Don is president of the Christian Motorcyclist’s Association for the Livingston chapter and trains other bikers to reach the lost at state rallies and other motorcycling events.
